About this course
ISO 14001:2026 clause 7.3 expects everyone working under the organization's control to know the environmental policy, the significant environmental aspects of their own work, how they contribute to the environmental management system and what happens when they do not follow it. This course delivers exactly that awareness in about 90 minutes, in the language of the shop floor, the stores and the yard.
You will learn what an environmental management system is and what changed when ISO 14001:2026 replaced the 2015 edition. You will learn the difference between an aspect and an impact, how your site decides which aspects are significant, and the controls you own: waste segregation, chemical handling and safety data sheets, containment, spill response, drain protection and energy habits. You will see how permits and other compliance obligations turn into the readings and logs you complete, and why an honest record matters more than a convenient one.
The course is written for employees and contractors at manufacturing, surface treatment, electronics and assembly sites, especially suppliers to aerospace, defense and medical device customers who ask for evidence of environmental awareness training. No prior knowledge is needed.
The course closes with a 10-question examination drawn from a bank of 20. On passing you receive a PlanetISO Certificate of Completion with lifetime access to the course. The certificate does not expire.
What you will be able to do

- Distinguish an environmental aspect from an environmental impact and identify the significant aspects of your work area.
- Apply the operational controls for waste segregation, chemical storage, safety data sheets and energy use at your workstation.
- Carry out the first actions in a spill, including drain protection, and know when to stop and who to tell.
- Describe how permits and compliance obligations depend on honest monitoring records, and report incidents with what, where, when and what you did.
