About this course

Internal audit is the organization's own check on its quality management system. Done well, it finds the gaps before a customer or certification body does and feeds management review with facts rather than reassurance. This course trains you to do it well against ISO 9001:2026.

You begin with how auditors read the standard, then work through every requirement of clauses 4 to 10 with an auditor's tip on each: what to sample, what to ask, and what evidence settles the question. The 2026 changes receive particular attention, since quality culture, ethical behaviour, climate relevance, opportunities and change planning all need new audit approaches.

Four modules cover the audit discipline itself: auditing principles and auditor behaviour, the audit process from planning to closing meeting, nonconformities and root cause analysis, and reporting and follow-up. Scenarios set in a contract manufacturer of industrial valves give you practice in deciding what the evidence shows and what to write.

The course closes with a 30-question examination drawn from a bank of 50. On passing, you receive a PlanetISO Certificate of Completion valid for three years.

What you will be able to do

  • Interpret the requirements of ISO 9001:2026 clauses 4 to 10 and identify the evidence that demonstrates conformity
  • Audit the 2026 additions: quality culture and ethical behaviour, climate change in context, opportunities, and planning of changes
  • Plan a process-based internal audit with a risk-based sample and a checklist that follows the work
  • Gather and triangulate objective evidence through interviews, observation, records and data
  • Write clear, verifiable nonconformity statements that cite the requirement, the evidence and the extent
  • Evaluate root cause analysis and corrective action plans, and verify their effectiveness at follow-up
  • Report audit results so that management review receives accurate input
