About this course

ISO 9001:2026 was published on 16 September 2026. It keeps the harmonized structure and the process approach that organizations know from the 2015 edition, and sharpens expectations on quality culture, ethical behaviour, climate change in context, opportunities and the planning of changes.

This course walks you through the whole standard in plain language. You start with what a management system is and why Plan, Do, Check, Act sits underneath every clause. You then move through clauses 4 to 10 one at a time, with a short summary of what each requires and a note on what an auditor would look for.

Every module ends with a short quiz, and the course closes with a 20-question examination drawn from a bank of 30. Scenarios drawn from manufacturing and service organizations show how the requirements play out when something goes wrong.

By the end you will be able to read ISO 9001:2026, explain the 2026 changes to colleagues, and know what your organization needs to do to prepare for or maintain certification.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the purpose of a quality management system and the seven quality management principles
  • Describe the structure of ISO 9001:2026 and how clauses 4 to 10 map to Plan, Do, Check, Act
  • Summarize the key changes introduced in the 2026 revision and the transition timeline to 30 September 2029
  • Outline what each clause from 4 to 10 requires of an organization
  • Recognize what evidence demonstrates conformity to common requirements such as competence, release and corrective action
  • Describe how third-party certification works, from stage 1 to recertification
