About this course

Every inspection stamp, test result and batch record is a promise that someone downstream will rely on without checking. In aerospace, defense and medical devices, that someone may be a pilot or a patient. This course explains why AS9100D, ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 13485:2016 treat ethical behaviour and data integrity as system requirements, and what that means at a bench, a test rig, a purchasing desk or a keyboard.

You will work through the situations that actually cause trouble: being asked to sign for a check you did not do, pressure to ship before the test is finished, a colleague's stamp in an unlocked drawer, a broker with obsolete parts that appeared from nowhere, a supplier who wants to buy lunch during a tender. You will learn a 10-second decision test, phrases to use when the pressure is on, how to raise a concern so it gets acted on, and how to climb the escalation ladder.

The course also covers quality culture: what it looks like day to day, the behaviours that build or destroy it, what leaders must do when someone speaks up, and how auditors assess it. It meets the awareness training intent of AS9100D clause 7.3 and the ethical behaviour awareness that customers flow down under clause 8.4.3.

The course closes with a 10-question examination drawn from a bank of 20. On passing you receive a PlanetISO Certificate of Completion with lifetime access to the course content. The certificate does not expire.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain why a single false record is treated as a safety event in aerospace and medical device supply chains.
  • State what AS9100D clause 7.3 and ISO 9001:2026 clauses 5.1.1, 7.1.4 and 7.3 expect of people and leaders regarding ethical behaviour and quality culture.
  • Apply the data integrity principles of attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original and accurate to everyday records.
  • Recognize common ethical pressure points, including pre-signing, borrowed stamps, time pressure, gifts, confidentiality and counterfeit temptation, and respond correctly.
  • Use a simple decision test and a set of ready phrases to stop, check and ask before signing or acting.
  • Raise a concern with the facts, references and request that make it actionable, and escalate through the right route.
  • Describe the behaviours that build or destroy a quality culture and how culture is assessed.
