About this course
Leading an AS9100D audit means owning the scope, the plan, the team, the classification of every finding and a recommendation that a certification body reviewer and a customer reading OASIS can both rely on. This course trains you to do that work the way the Industry Controlled Other Party scheme expects.
You begin with the scheme itself: the 9104 series rules for certification bodies, oversight and auditor authentication, the role of OASIS, and what certification bodies expect of a lead. Three modules then take you through AS9100D clause by clause from the lead auditor's seat, with the evidence trails that expose the aerospace additions and worked classification decisions.
The auditing modules cover fundamentals, programme management, the audit process and leading a team. A dedicated module applies the 9101 methodology end to end: stage 1 and stage 2, the reporting forms, process effectiveness assessment on the 4-level scale, writing PEARs and nonconformity reports, audit time rules, customer-specific requirements and leading second-party supplier audits, with scenarios that ask you to decide.
The course closes with nonconformity writing, root cause evaluation, reporting and follow-up. The final examination draws 40 questions from a bank of 80 with a 90-minute limit and a 75 percent pass mark. On passing you receive a PlanetISO Certificate of Completion, with lifetime access to the course and your certificate.
What you will be able to do
- Explain the ICOP certification scheme, the 9104 series and the roles of accreditation bodies, certification bodies, auditor authentication bodies and OASIS.
- Define and defend certificate scope, site coverage and audit duration under 9104-001.
- Audit every clause of AS9100D with emphasis on the aerospace additions, selecting the evidence trails that expose system breakdown and product escape.
- Classify nonconformities as major or minor using the 9101 definitions and write them so they are verifiable.
- Assess operational process effectiveness on the 4-level scale and write PEARs that customers can act on.
- Plan and lead stage 1, stage 2, surveillance and recertification audits, including the top management interview and team allocation.
- Evaluate corrective action responses for root cause, human factors and effectiveness before recommending closure.
- Lead second-party supplier audits scoped by flow-down requirements and feed the results into external provider control.
