About this course
An aerospace purchase order is the vehicle that carries requirements from the airworthiness authority and the OEM down through every tier to the mill, the heat treater and the job shop. A clause that is missed, a special process done at an unapproved source or a change nobody reported turns conforming parts into an escape. This course teaches you to read a purchase order properly, meet every clause and flow the right requirements to your own suppliers.
You will learn why flow-down exists and what AS9100D clause 8.4.3 requires to be communicated to external providers, alongside the supplier approval and control requirements of 8.4.1 and 8.4.2. You will decode quality clauses, drawing and specification revisions, special process and approved source requirements, certificates of conformity, first article requirements under AS9102, record retention, right of access, change notification and nonconformance approval, with FAR and DFARS clauses introduced at awareness level. You will then turn the mirror around and write sub-tier orders that carry counterfeit prevention, key characteristics, digital product definition, packaging and FOD requirements, and deliver the certificates and test reports that prove the chain held.
The final module works through the three classic failures as scenarios and shows how customer and certification auditors trace flow-down from a customer clause to a sub-tier order to the delivery package.
The course is written for buyers, planners, contract reviewers, quality staff, programmers and shipping staff at AS9100D and AS9120B suppliers. It closes with a 10-question examination drawn from a bank of 20. On passing you receive a PlanetISO Certificate of Completion with lifetime access to the course content. The certificate does not expire.
